Moi dix Mois - DIXANADU
review by Amatsu

Dispell Bound
I love this song. I don't think its to long or to short, its perfect. The epicness draws me into the album well, and i love the feel of the song itself. I love Seth's whispering, which is brilliatly panned in terms of listening to it in surround sound or with headphones. I'm sure when i see them live [Because i'm almost positive they'll come to seattle, since they were going to with Batsu's tour.] Dispell Bound will be one of my favorites, due to the obvious fact that this is an Audience Participation song.

Angelica
This song first hit me in an odd way, i felt it was irregular and awkwardly arranged, but then the second and third times i listened to it, i fell in love with it. Especially after reading the translated lyrics, this song became one of my favorite Moi dix Mois songs. I love the organs in it, and the harpsichord composition has a very dainty feel, right after the organ stops and right before the guitars go into the mutted--unmuted area. i love the transitions in this song, no matter how messy one might find them. I favor this song over any song on Nocturnal Romance. Seth's singing during the chorus is amazing. I love when they double up his vocals right at "Grow to the sky", "kanata e", and "Bloom with pride, beautiful Angelica." This song is so good.

Metaphysical
The intro is so great. The soft, delicate, elegant strings, and then it breaks into a guitar riff that has a very "build up" sound, then to the main riff, which is so good. I love how heavy and Delicate this song is, and how it switches between the two. The drums are perfect for this song, but my only request for mana is to make the drums a rad bit louder. I love Seths growl-esque voice, and then it goes into his beautiful deep voice. (note: one of the aspects of switching from heavy to delicate.) Again, in this song they double up seths voice, and create an amazing sound. i love all of the different melodies in this song. The abrupt ending to it is amazing when listening to the song in order.

Exclude
I love the begining of this song, it reminds me of my beloved Rammstein. I love the different distortions used on Seths voice. I love when he says "Too many ghosts!" and "You have no face!" The panning in this song is well-done. The melodies are amazing. This song is just too much for words. its hard to describe such a complex song.

Last Temptation
I love the intro. the Choir and the strings make a perfect match, then through in some drums and whispers, it makes for a very elegant and pleasing sound. Then, the brige Organ is played slowly, and it is the perfect intro for seth's singing. after the first verse, it gets really powerful, but maintains its tempo. Again, in this chorus, they double seths voice, and it STILL works. This song is really good. The slow guitar is amazing, then it goes faster along with the drums, it's perfect.

Immortal Madness
This song was my enemy when i first listened to this album, but i guess its grown on me, i just wish it wasnt so long and repeditive. I get tired of hearing "dix sight" half way through the song. The intro is nice, and so is the music, its just to long for the content, and the ending seems like it was done in a hurry, despite all of this, i love this song.

Neo-Pessimist
Wonderfully done. So much more power then the original. i love the intro, and the guitars have such a crisp sound. The panning once again is genius. the "PESSIMIST!" part is great, i love the powerfulness of this song.

Xanadu
definatly on my list of "top 3 favorite moi dix mois songs." this song starts slowly, but it has an amazing intro, i love the drums, and the reverb on Seth's voice. the organ melody is so good, and in the translated lyrics seth mentions a bell, and then a bell starts sounding, which is a nice touch. When it goes into the chorus i could just die with happiness. its slow, but its full. I love moi dix mois slower songs. mana is good at writing slow beats for the drums. There's good use of everything in this song.

A Lapis Night's Dream
this fugue isnt that good, but its the perfect intro to lamentful miss.

Lamentful Miss
I am so glad this song is on DIXANADU, i mean, its not my number one favorite song on the album, but i love it to death. its such a good song. the guitar work is nothing less then brilliant, and the drums are so well done, and perfect for this song. Seth's voice is wonderful here. Again, i must make mention of the guitar work, which is probably one of the best written guitar peices in Moi dix Mois history. I love all of it, this song is amazing.

Lilac Of Damnation
The intro is so wonderfully dainty, i love the transitions in it. The guitar work in this is also one of Moi dix Mois' best. I love the synth. Such power in the first line of lyrics, and the whole song. i love this song, theres not much else to it.

Sacred Lake
Perfect outro, to an amazing album. The melody is grand.
